| FALL IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!! (2008) |

The leaves are changing, the weather is cooling, and I'm loving it! Now that I have my license and riding my own bike a little more and venturing further out, I realize just how dangerous the roadways are. OMG! I have a respect for motorcyclist more than ever and understand the frustrations of all who ride. I was in a turn lane in Spring Hill...a white van decides to share that single lane with me....and drives right along side me in this single lane and do you think that numbskull was turning...NO..SHE was dodging traffic to get ahead of the line at the intersection that only allows one lane to go straight so she proceeds to go straight through the intersection from MY turn lane and merge into the oncoming traffic. DON'T YOU JUST LOVE 'EM!! I see this sort of driving all the time in Spring Hill, I can only imagine in a higher populated area. WOW!! On a lighter note.............................. Thank you to everyone for my best month yet here at All That's Leather & More. I do so much appreciate the support and the word-of-mouth advertising you all have been doing. I am adding to my inventory weekly, especially those items we all need for the cooler days and nights. I just got a shipment of headgear in a couple of different styles. Also, new styles of neoprene masks. Come check out the gloves. Great styles....Great prices. Don't forget the sleeveless men's & women's shirts. These are great all winter long with a long sleeved T-shirt underneath. I am getting a new shipment in of long sleeved T-shirts soon with new colors and larger sizes. They should be here next week. I just got another shipment of the Cordura jackets with a zipout lining due to the many request. You can't beat $49.99 on a waterproof jacket! These jackets also block the wind and can be comfortably worn until the temperature takes a drastic drop.
And speaking of temperatures dropping. Cold weather can be as harsh on your skin as the sun. Remember to protect your skin and give it the extra attention it will need to survive the colder weather soon approching. My recommendation is Advanced Skin & Laser Center & Reflections Skin Spa. Dr. John Binhlam and staff can recommend exactly what you need for any skin type and skin condition. Not only am I a client...I worked there for over 8 years. Believe me, they are THE BEST in the business! Call them at 615-843-7546 or visit the website at www.Advancedskinlaser.com. Make sure you tell them Tamera sent you!!

Let me tell the tale of how All That's Leather & More came to be....I was at work (for the best dermatologist around, Dr. John Binhlam in Brentwood.. 615-843-7546 )and I get a call from my husband, Woody, telling me he was going to buy a motorcycle. Well, I "went off" on him like fireworks during the 4th of July!! Now, I'm not a mean gal, okay...this was strictly out of fear for him. He hadn't ridden a motorcycle in about 35 years and there had not been any previous discussions of, "Ya know, honey, I've been thinking about buying a bike". OH< NO. It was, "I'm going to buy a bike". I said some things very loudly...does everyone get loud when their blood pressure shoots up? Anyway, I was being so "ugly" that my office manager and dear friend, Sandy, told me to, "Shut your mouth right now. You don't mean a thing you're saying!" (She's still my friend, just not my office manager anymore) So...that Saturday he took me to Yamaha of Cool Springs to show me the bike. Of course, he got it and I left in his truck on 2 wheels out of the parking lot. Now, remember....he hadn't ridden in 35 years. He thought I was going to follow him home to make sure he made it okay (or in my thought...to pick up the body parts along the way.) Did I even think about that? NOPE! Had I remembered (pass my anger) that he hadn't ridden in so long I would have definitely stayed to make sure he made it okay. As soon as I got home I jumped in my Mustang, put the top down, and LEFT!! I rode around all day long, into the evening and let him wonder where I was. I came home because I wasn't sleeping in that cramped car, but I headed back out the next morning. He finally called me that afternoon to see where I was and that if I would let him take me for a very short ride so I would see that he knew how to ride after all these years and wasn't going to get hurt. He even said "please". So...I went for a short ride down Carter's Creek Pike with him.....and.............................................
I'M HOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I left my job of over 8 years that I dearly loved, opened a motorcycle leather store....I love the smell of leather......... and Now...I OWN MY OWN BIKE! OH YEAH! What a RUSH!!
I had been told that if I ever rode a bike myself, I would be hooked. This is the most addictive thing I have ever done! I've never been one to do anything that might get me hurt.. except ride horses.....and.. I GOT HURT!! (More than once) But, OMG, I LOVE THIS.....Am I scared? Yes...but just enough to keep me cautious and alert. I try to be relaxed without being lax! There is still so much to learn and that comes with experience and what an experience it is. So, until the next tale..

I hope you all had a great, safe Memorial Day weekend. Ours was very MEMORABLE to say the least! We started out Saturday morning from the store and headed to Metropolis, Illinois (home of SUPERMAN)! What an absolute gorgeous day for riding. Five bikes, 9 people...excitement filled the air! We visited the Garden of the Gods not too far from Metropolis. If you've never been there you need to plan a ride and visit. It's a must see! Leaving day, Monday morning...RAIN. Bad RAIN. Lots of it! We got on the interstate and I think we pulled over 3 times within 25 minutes. It took us an hour for what should have taken us 35 minutes to get off of that interstate. (You can imagine the respect that bikers get especially in these circumstances.) The rain was bad enough, but OH MY GOODNESS the LIGHTNING ....I am so glad I have a straight line to heaven because I was talking to the BIG MAN. If you got a busy signal....it was me. I was on that line for quite a while!! We finally got off that interstate (halelujah) and ran in/out of rain & lightning storms for several more miles. Now 2 of the 9 riders forgot to pack their rainsuits. I won't mention any names, but when we got to the welcome center at The Land between the Lakes, MY SISTER KIM took her blowdryer into the restroom and between it and the hand dryer in there, she looked....well........less wet! Once we left there the weather looked as if it might turn out prettier than we expected. Everyone was loving the spots of sunshine that we would run through and the warm breeze felt good to CHUBBY AND KIM. We went through some small town and ,of course, made a wrong turn (thanks Honey) and noticed that up ahead was the worst looking black cloud we had yet to encounter. We all turned around in the middle of the road and literally OUTRAN this line of storms. It truly looked like something out of a movie and I'm sure we did too! We made it back to the deli/gas quick stop market that we had previously passesd and pulled in about 1 minute before a torrential downpour hit. The winds were blowing from both sides of the highway and it looked as if we were going to get blown away. That helped us decide that cheeseburgers and bologna sandwiches were just what we wanted for lunch!! We waited out that thunder/lightning storm and hit the road when we thought it safe enough. It was only a short time before the rain found us! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! We made it to Dickson and fueled. We were pulling back onto the highway and looked toward home. What an ugly black cloud!! Well, I guess we thought we could outrun it or either it would turn the other way, because WE DIDN'T STOP FOR COVER! We got on highway #7, about 25 miles from home and along with the worst rain and lightning yet, we encountered HAIL!. And WHY NOT! OH MY GOODNESS!! With nowhere to go for shelter, we pull over because THAT STUFF HURTS! It was hitting me and I was just a passenger. I can imagine anyone riding in front without a windshield, OUCH! I was half expecting to find snow around the next curve! We finally rode out of it just a few miles down the road and it looked as though we entered another world. It hadn't so much as rained! Folks were in the field loading hay, birds chirping, flowers blooming, sun shining and all was beautiful with the world. Then, 5 miles and 5 curves later..the winds came. Hard & fast! We finally made it to the end of our road/driveway toward home. We really hated breaking off from the group.....(NOT) but bid everyone a safe trip home and proceeded up the drive. I could see my front door and all of a sudden the wind whipped across the field and I thought we were done. I grabbed Woody around the waist and hugged him tighter than I have in the 30+ years we've been married. Fear sure makes you stronger! (His poor ribs!) We finally made it to the barn and off the bike. My shaky legs carried me to the door and .....OH MY GOODNESS!!
I sell a patch in the store that I have always loved the saying: It's not the destination, It's the Journey.....well that day It was ALL ABOUT THE DESTINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOME SWEET HOME!
